Requirements to work as a doctor in UK vary, depending on where you are coming from. The following information is provided as a general guideline and we endeavour to keep it up-to- date. However, we do include links to appropriate websites where full and up-to- date information can be found; we recommend you visit these.


Doctors from the European Economic Area / EC rights

For doctors who are nationals from countries in the European Economic Area (EEA), Switzerland or from all other countries with EC rights; or doctors who have graduated from a medical school in a EEA country or Switzerland, this link to the General Medical Council provides information on the qualifications and evidences that you will need to provide at the time of submitting your application for registration with a licence to practice.

Our specialist international recruitment team possess years of experience in helping doctors relocate to the UK. Thus, registering with us couldn’t be easier and generally involves the following:

  • Send us your CV with job preferences and preferred locations.
  • We will confirm receipt of your CV and give you a timescale for the interview process.
  • We will conduct pre-screening in your country.
  • If successful, you will be contacted for a pre-interview by telephone and we will inform you if you are shortlisted.
  • Once shortlisted, your CV will be sent to the client for their short listing process.
  • Those selected will be interviewed by the client either through video conferencing or face to face in your country, by their representatives.
  • If successful, you will receive an offer of employment.
