Band 5 Registered Nurse (Mental Health)

Pay rates negotiable

Shift Time: Monday to Friday (09:00 - 17:00)

Location: Bury St Edmunds

We are currently looking for Band 5 Registered Nurse with a specialisation in Mental Health. A candidate must have current NMC registration.

Job Specification: 

  • The posts are based in Bury St Edmunds but cover the whole of West Suffolk so a driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential.
  • The post holders will be required to undertake holistic assessments of service users with a confirmed or suspected diagnosis of dementia that are at high risk of further deterioration or admission to hospital.
  • The successful applicant will be able to formulate care plans and support packages to preventrisk of deterioration and admission to hospital, which will involve working alongside family members, professional carers and other agencies.
  • Experience of working with people with dementia in the community is essential.
  • Must be PMA trained.
  • Must have the ability to work independently, as part of a team, maintain patient records, maintain professional standards and follow codes of practice.
  • Must be committed to providing patient centred care, computer literate and have a willingness to be flexible.
  • Must have previous experience of working within mental health and in a similar service, setting and client group.

Required Skills:

  • Demonstrable critical thinking skills in clinical decision making.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and team working skills.
  • Experiences of key-working and care planning.
  • Demonstrable critical thinking skills in clinical decision making.
  • Willing to undertake education/courses relevant to an area of practice and service development.
  • Evidence of updating practice and continued professional development.
