General Practitioner (GP) in Shropshire

The Flame Lily is a Healthcare Recruitment agency that provides health care professionals to the NHS and private hospitals on a temporary and permanent basis throughout the UK.

General Practitioner will be responsible for the medical care during patients’ stay, admission assessments, prescribing and safe discharge planning. You will work closely with the patient’s registered GP. 

The GP will be an integral part of the multidisciplinary team and will be a key member of the team ensuring safe admission of patients, prescribing, discharge planning, liaison with the patient’s GP and oversight of the safe care of their patients.

The core work of a GP is all about listening. Daily tasks will include:

  • Holding consultations in the surgery
  • Listening to patients and diagnosing and treating their symptoms
  • Deciding on the right course of action for patients (could include hospital referral for specialised treatment)
  • Administrative and management duties 

Qualifications:

  • Able to demonstrate interest related to elderly care and rehabilitation.
  • Experience in management of patient group.
  • Post graduate qualification in rehabilitation, elderly care e.g. willingness to work towards one.
  • GMC Registration.
  • JCPCTGP Certificate

Skills Required:

  • Experience of working in a multi-professional team.
  • Good communication skills both verbal and written. 
  • Able to demonstrate skills in dictation and letter writing.
  • Competence in teaching and training other health care professionals and a commitment to cascading knowledge and skills. 
  • Knowledge of Government NHS developments impacting on the service.
  • Computer literacy.
